Having problems with your 1998 Ford F150 Regular Cab ?

1998 Ford F150 5.4 liter V8 squealing problem. Ok, I have this loud squeal that sounds like a pulley or belt. It is getting worse by the week. At first, I would spray some WD40 on the pulleys and it would stop for a day or so, But now, Nothing works. I put a stethoscope up to my driver side valve cover and the squeal is extremely loud. Can the camshaft position sensor cause this? If not, What else could it be? 216k miles.

Answers :

I don't think its the CPS, but I do know that WD40 will make a squealing belt even worse. If you havnt replaced the belt yet, I would do that.

Let us know if that helps.
