Having problems with your 1981 Chevrolet Corvette ?

What do I do if My 1981 corvette idles at high rpm (1500) and will not back off.

This could be that the throttle lever is not resting completely aginst the adustment screw, or the choke mechanism is doing the same it's too high.This is a common problem with carbs that have auto choke's.So they all probably need adjusting.The throttle lever opens the butterfly in the barrel of the carb.Check it out. You may have a vacuam hose off somewhere, else adjust the throttle plate stop on the carb where the linkage comes to rest
