Having problems with your 1983 Jeep CJ7 ?

I have replaced the starter and the solenoid. when turn the key the solenoid "growls"...then no power to anything lights horns etc. Let sit a while and get accessories back, but no start. problems happened after a jump start. This vehicle has never had a start issue, wondering if the booster start fried the Electronic module? I hate throwing parts at it...I appreciate any ideas. It is a 1983 CJ-5 with straight 6 and electronic ignition.

Answers :

Did you give or get the jump start? (makes a difference sometimes) I'd check the battery voltage and alternator output (after you get it started). Sounds right now as if there is low battery voltage or a bad battery connection (or bad block ground). Check that and work from there.
