Having problems with your 1984 Mercury Marquis ?

My car did not start in the morning. It was cold about 17 degrees F. So I left it all day then got home about 9:30 and still no start. Strong cranking power. But I can not get any fuel to kick in it seems. Any suggestions ?

Answers :

Is your vehicle carbureted? if so your choke is not working properly. i do not advise using starting fluid. take a small amount of gas (about two tablespoons full) and put in the neck of your carburetor. this is the opening directly under the air cleaner. if your vehiicle kicks but does not start you may need to replace your fuel pump or fuel filter
