Having problems with your 1984 Pontiac Firebird ?

How do i replace the seatbelts?

\015 I dont understand how to disconnect the seatbelts connected by the roof of the car on my 1984 firebird. Also, only on the passenger side, i think that lever is stuck because you can fold it all the way forward even when it remains untouched. Fixable? or do i just get a new seat?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 25-10-2021

Answers :

You will have to drop the rear section of the headliner. There are two 9/16's bolts that hold the assembly in place. The part that bolts to the floor of the car is held in place by a t-40 star bolt. There is an access panel on the back of the plastic boot that covers the seat belt. Open this, and you will see the bolt.
