Having problems with your 1985 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer ?

Check engine light on an 85 k5 blazer

\015 I have an 85 K5 blazer with what I've been told in a computer controlled carb. People keep telling me that if the check engine light is not coming on then the computer in the carb is fine. The problem is, I've owned it for a year and had a couple of issues with the engine and the light has never come on. I'm wondering if I have been given the wrong information on the carb or if the check engine light has somehow been disconnected. I need to know where it is supposed to be located on the instrument panel so I can try and figure out what is going on.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 09-12-2019

Answers :

A simple way to see if the check engine light works is to unplug any sensor and if the light comes on then the light works and the computer is doing its job(to turn off the light simply plug the sensor back and disconnect the negative cable on the battery for 1 minute)
