Having problems with your 1985 Dodge Ram 50 ?
Inconsitant knocking oil pan got a small hole in it, slow oil leak, then all of a sudden knock developed. it is not a steady knock. seems to change tempo as it moves up in rpms, i am stuck.
Sounds like a wrist pin problem. its where the piston attaches to the connecting rod. the piston waddles side to side as it goes up and down sounding irratic. the engine would have to come apart. if not fixed it will cause the cylinder to become oval
That small hole was caused buy a pistion being broken and making that hole. that knock you hear it the broken conecting shaft from the crank shaft to the pistion head hitting the side of oil pan/everything else in the engine. and it changed with RPM b/c the fast you go the fast it hits everything. i'm sorry but this is major surgury for your engine. if go now you might be able to save it.
