Having problems with your 1987 Ford Ranger ?

We are trying to find the timing marks on the engine on a 1987 ranger. Does anyone know where to find them?

When you remove the timing cover front youll notice a plate welded on the back of the timing gears they have a diamond shape on them. Those are the timing marks. The other is on the plastic as far as crank goes make sure its on a compression hit and get it top dead center.

Depends on what size engine it has the 2.3 or 2.0 the cranshaftmark will be on the timing cover the camshaft will be the pointer below the gear. the gears will have a dot or arrow on them just align them before you put the new belt on.
