Having problems with your 1987 Nissan Pickup ?

I replaced the head gasket on my nissan pick D21 1987 but I cant get the timing right i have all the marks like the book says but it will not start im i doing the timing wrong what should i do

Did you adjust the valves and are you sure after you put belt on and have it tensioned that you ran the motor around by hand at least 2 full revolutions?

if you do this and then find the marks are off...you either got it wrong to begin with, or the timing belt is stretched...hope you didnt try to reuse the timing belt...anytime ya take one off you should change it
