Having problems with your 1987 Subaru DL ?

No power to carb solenoids

\015 Won't idle unless I run a jumper from the battery to the solenoid plug at the carb. When I do that the indicater lights on the dash light up but stay lit until I disconnect the jumper. I've tested the solenoids, checked all fuses and tested the ignition switch in all 3 positions for continuity. The indicater lights should come on when the key is in "ON" and go out when the engine starts. There is continuity in the wire harness to the indicater lights or they wouldn't come on when I connect the jumper. What else is in that line that would allow current to flow back to the indicater lights but not flow from the ignition to the carb and engine wiring? By indicater lights I mean alternator, brake fluid level, parking brake, etc. that show red under the instrument cluster.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 17-09-2018
