Having problems with your 1987 Subaru Gl 4WD ?

My 1987 Subaru GL's front brakes are seized and I am not quiet sure how to fix them. And after i get the old ones off, what do I need to do, if anything, to keep them from seizing again?

Answers :

Dont be scared ,they should be seizing again for the next 10 yers even with a low maintenace! the problem that usually appen is that the ruber seal from the piston on caliper ...after a wile cracs ans allow water to sneak between the piston and the piston chamber ,thats why it get seased, dont be whorie it will remain good for a wile ...dont forget to bleed your breaks, ask a friend to sit in the carwith engine runing, ask him to pump the pedal for 5or6 time then keep-it down ,at the same time you will unskrew the bleed srew on the caliper, and let the air escape, close back the screw befor your friend release the pedal, repeat that 2 or 3 time on each side ...(becus most caliper can fit left or right make shure that the bleed screw is on the higher part of caliper ...)
