Having problems with your 1987 Toyota Pickup ?
1987 Toyota 2WD Pickup--The windsield washer doesn't work, and I can't find the pump or motor for further testing. Do you know where they are located? (The wipers work, and I've checked all the fuses I can find.) Thanks, Jay
Pump is on the bottom of the washer bottle It just clips into place. Be careful when removing. The housing tends to become brittle with age. To test you can run a 2 lead wires from the battery. Polarity does not matter. If the motor does not run you can attempt a fix by removing the rear cover of the motor. A small screwdriver wil enable you to bend the casing open at the 2 points wher it clamps into the plastic rear housing. Chances are you'll find quite a bit of rust inside. Clean out the rust. Give it a spray with a penetrating fluid. See that the contacts on the armature are clean. If you have a multimeter you can measure the resistance between these contacts. If you get no measurement you can bin the motor.
Basically two things - 1, as you've said there should be a box of all fuses for electrical components, check this, OR 2, it will most probably be the motor, which is situated directly underneath the water tank. i advise taking this to a garage, i've had it myself and it's pretty hard to do.
