Having problems with your 1988 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 ?

Do I need brake fluid or a major fix?

\015 Just a few hours ago as I was driving I was cut off out of nowhere and slammed on the breaks harder than I have in my whole life. I came an inch away from an accident. My breaks were working perfectly before this happened, now when I step on them they go pretty much to the ground and feel soft and like they are barely even braking. my break light came on which I didn't even know I had. It says Break P I. Does this sound like I just need break fluid or something serious could have occurred? Thanks\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-04-2019

Answers :

More Serious--- like rusted out brake tubing
needs to be replaced or you blew out a flex hose
Nothing to do with the event of a sudden stop
That car is so old you need lots of restoration
work i would guess, just to be safe to use
May be a good time to part with it
