Distributor Gear damaged and car won't start

\015 I recently had a new distributor installed only to fail a short time later. When it was installed a distributor mounting gasket was not used. Could this cause the distributor drive gear to fail with several teeth being damaged?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 03-10-2022

Answers :

That is possible, I would try to look at the teeth on the drive gear in the motor, could be damage there also.
