Having problems with your 1988 Toyota Pickup ?

'88 Toyota pickup, carbuerated 4cyl - won't start. have power to guages, can hear relay when turn ignition to start, but won't turn starter motor. Have checked all fuses and fuseable links, replaced starter. Have 12V coming in to ignition. Have 12v at accessory lead at ignition switch. When turn key to start get 7.5v at other lead (brown wire). I'm stumped.

Since you have 12 volts going into ignition. Check to see how much you have coming out of ignition. If you are only getting 7.5 volts to the starter, then there must be a cable connection that is not metal to metal contact, or solenoid is weak, or battery is low on cranking amps. Or starter relay is worn
