1989 Buick Regal Limited Transmission Fluid?

\015 I want to know how much transmission fluid should be added to a 1989 Buick Regal 2.8L and how frequently it should be changed. I have been told three quarts is adequate, but I have been having problems with the car burning transmission fluid and want to know how much is really necessary and how long I can go before replacing it again. \015\012\015\012Thanks for any help you can provide.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 02-12-2019

I'm not sure I am following your problem.
A transmission holds 10-15 quarts including the torque converter. When you drain the fluid you are changing about 4 quarts of the full amount.
Once you fill the transmission to the full mark on the dipstick, you should not be adding more fluid unless there is a leak. Or if the vac modulator is damaged and allowing fluid to be pulled into the engine. The fluid is checked with the engine running in park.
