Having problems with your 1989 Dodge Dakota 2WD ?
1989 dodge dakota truck, 4cy, manual transmission. transmission has been slipping but failed to work this morning. It was suggested to me that the pressure plate was probably defective. are there checks i can make and how difficult is it to replace the pressure plate....
Well you have to get is a clutch job. This means pull the tranny, pull and replace the clutch disc, the pressure plate, and the throw out bearing. Also have the flywheel resurfaced. It makes no sense to take it completely apart and replace just one part, when all of them are worn out. Get a repair manual for a few bucks on ebay and see how involved it is before you start.
