Having problems with your 1989 Toyota Pickup SR5 ?

I have removed the retaining springs from the caliper along with the quieting spring from the top of the pads. I just can't seem to figure out how to get the pins that hold the brake pads in place out of the caliper

Answers :

The pins slide out horizontally. It sounds to me like they are rusted or stuck. Take a small punch and a hammer. carefully drive out the pins. sand them smooth and anti-siese them. You should put a little bit of pb parts blaster on the pins but keep the fluid of the brake pads. I dont think it would be good for them.
