Having problems with your 1990 Ford Escort ?

I have a 1990 Ford Escort, Automatic trans. I am in the process of replacing the driver side CV axel, all came out well except the part that goes into the transmission. When I tried pulling it out the axel came apart and now the only thing left is the part that goes into the transmission... I guess it's the inner joint? I cannot get that out for the life of me. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to get it out w/o dropping the transmission? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

Answers :

Put a wedge between it and the trans and pound on it its just stuck or a big pry bar happens all the time jack it up as high as you can too helps alot so you have more room to work
