Having problems with your 1990 Ford F250 ?

1990 f250 5.8lt computer codes not right the mechanic re set it shows wrong voltages and some gauges don,t reg correctly poor econ .and idle paul clyne

Most likely, its the voltage regulator which you should try replacing first. You could also have a short in the wiring somewhere. Unfortunately, this wouldn't be an easy fix or cheap if you don't do it yourself. If you can find melted/cracked/or broken wiring, then replace it. Look in the engine bay first. If you can't, then your best bet may be to buy a Haynes or Chilton manual and start checking voltages and wiring and figuring out where the voltage isn't right and track it back to the battery.
