Loud Grinding noise while driving in rear of vehicle

\015 Can I get the procedure for removing and replacing the rear bearing hub assemblies for a 1990 Taurus Wagon? I have a very loud grinding noise while driving, which is not the brakes, as the brakes are not squeeking, and appear to be in good working order. I bought the car a few months ago, and continue to drive it with the grinding noise. The odometer shows 18,150.1 miles. Do the brake shoes need to come off, or can I just remove the drums, and nuts with the coter pins to remove the bearing hub assemblies? I intend on replacing both sides at the same time.\015\012Thanks\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 27-09-2021

Answers :

The bearings should be inside the drum assembly. The brakes do not have to come off. The bearings may have to be pressed out if they are sealed type bearings.
