Having problems with your 1990 Jeep Wrangler ?

I have a 95 yj that has what appears to be cooliant dripping from the oil pan? It has an oily consistancy that is green in color. It is coming down between the oil pan and bell housing. Could this be a main seal?

Answers :

If its green in color its antifreeze, if it was the rear main seal it would strickly be oil, i would chk. the back of the engine, if its a strate 6, between wear the head meets the block, if v6 or v8 wear intake bolts to heads and mates to block, also chk. the freeze plugs in that area consentrating on the 1 behind the starter, there are also freeze plugs on the back of engine block behind bellhousing.
Inspect with a mirror and flashlight. Thats all anybody can do to locate the source
