Having problems with your 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse ?

Not shifting from second gear

\015 I have a 91 mitsubishi eclipse it's an automatic i replaced the throttle position sensor which helped. My idle is back to normal but now my car seems to be stuck in 2nd gear, i have no pick up from a complete stop and hills i have to floor the car. I was told i need a new transmission. Try unhooking the battery for a couple minutes to clear the error codes stored in the computer. Then hook the battery back up and with the key in the run position and engine off, push the gas pedal all the way to the floor and release, and again floor it and release. Then start the car and take it for a test drive. The computer controled transmission uses info from both the TPS sensor and a speed sensor. You might have to take the car to a dealer to reprogram the computer.
