Having problems with your 1990 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight ?

Paired cylinders missing after restart

\015 My 1990 olds 88, 3.8v6 runs great. Usually if I start and drive it runs fine, but if I stop and then restart 2 cylinders won't work. Before now it would clear up but lately it is getting worse. The cylinders that misfire are the pair fired by the top portion of the coil. About 6 months ago the ignition module was leaking goo so I replaced it, which helped but then I replaced the coil and it was running fine until recently. The plugs are good and I replaced the wires, no improvement. In the last few days it has started to miss even if I don't stop and restart. The module seems extrememly hot, but it is essentially mounted to the head. Could it be overheating?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-09-2021
