Having problems with your 1990 Toyota Corolla ?

Is it worth to keep my 1990 Toyota Corrola if THE MILEAGE IS 99,560 miles as of today. I have just get oil change and minor maintenance last saturday, 11/13/10 and spent $650 for new starter last 3/10/10 and also new gasket valve cover pan for $450 lalso last march 10, 2010. I have a new battery which cost me $ 145 last 11/13/2009 and have a major maintenance on 11/20/2008. My problems are: 1) the check engine is already lighted so I need to have an EGR valve repair which will cost me $ 669

The easiest way to figure out if it is worth keeping is to add up the cost of repairs for last year. Do not add oil changes, tires,gas or brakes because these need to be done on a new car as well as an old car. When you have a total for repairs for the year divide that number by 12. This is what it costs you to drive your car. If this is less than the monthly payments on a new car then keep the old car. Hope this helps.
