1990 jetta parking brake release kills engine

\015 1.8L gas, manual transmission\012\012Starts and runs fine as long as the parking brake is on. As soon as the parking brake light goes off, it dies. If I start it with the parking brake off, it will start normally, idle slow for a few seconds, and then die. Broken ground? Parking brake switch is getting hot as though it's drawing a lot of current. First thought was bad PCM ground, but jumpering the heat sink to the battery post had no effect. Seems like fuel is never getting there past initial start. Where to look?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 26-10-2020

Okay, so the car's engine is running, and you're in drive but it's not going? It sounds like your transmission needs service.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
