Having problems with your 1991 Ford F150 ?

My rear oil seal went out

\015 Hi my rear oil seal went out and w replaced it and it still continued to leak and we tried it like three more times and still nothing worked so we put a new crank in it because mine was beat and now we put another new seal on this new crank now and put everything together and the motoir is still leaking oil. the intake is dry so it not that its not the valve covers, it not the head gasket, the only things it could be is the oil pan and the rear seal and the oil pan gasket wouldn't spray up into the rear seal so it has to be that and the seal is in straight all around so it hasn't popped out or moved\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-07-2019

Answers :

Have you tried changing the brand of seal or type? try using a doubble lip type seal
The rear of the oil pan can in some cases leak into the bellhousing area, be picked up by the flexplate and thrown around. Also, make sure that your pcv system is working and that you are not building pressure in the crankcase. If you are building pressure, it can force the rear main oil seal to leak.
