You need a new igniton control, if it is bad your alternator wont charge your battery and you will be sad!!!

\015\012i have a 91 thunderbird and it took me days of testing to determine that the OEM ignition control is not built very well and will cause charging problems! go to auto zone buddy yeah!!
Dear annieek,
I have the same problem on my 91 Bird. I have checked with a friend that owns a repair shop. He says when you turn the switch on you need to have the Alt. light to come on before you start the car, if it does not come on (mine does not) it is a wiring problem. That light must come on before the car is started in order to "excite" the Alternator. I am in the process now of taking the dash apart to find the problem of why the light is not coming on. More info later. This may give you a starting point.
