Having problems with your 1991 Honda Civic ?

1991 honda civic 1.5 engine rpm raises and lowers at an idle and no code shown . I turn on ac and it stops doing it. Turn off ac and it starts raiseing and lowering the rpm

This is a very common problem on older engine,

Idle air control valve (IAC) motor will also need to be inspect,lube or replace.

IAC is located 2 inchs from the end of the accelerator cable.

It has an electrical connector on top.

THIS IS A $220 item. Please hand the IAC with care!

Clean the electrical connector.

Remove and lube the IAC with white lithium grease.

This small electric motor's job is to increase idle few rpm higher when LOAD (like turning on A/C) is detected.

When IAC is not increasing the rpm (by small amount) to the engine will case this kind of surge rpm condition.
