Having problems with your 1991 Mazda RX-7 ?

1988 rx7 turbo starts and runs for 3-5 seconds and dies...

\015 If you rev it up immediately...you can keep it above 4500 it will run for 2 -3 rev ups before dying but then it still goes lifeless as i am pumping the accelerater and watching the tach drop to 0 .. i recently purchased the car not running after setting for 4 years...the fuel pump and tank were severly rusted and rotten fuel.i replaced the tank ,pump, and filter out of an 88 gxl non turbo13 b that i had setting out back.i called the local autozone and checked the part nos on the pump for turbo and non.they were the same.the previous owner said the car stopped running and they didnt want to pay anymore money to repair the rx. could the air vane have went bad causing the original problem?if we pull start it it will fire for a second and then die.if you swich the key off and then back on while pull starting it wil fire again for a second ..and so on.i would appeciate any help that i can get.if you can tell me how to test air vane i can do that.is there a way to convert to mass air flow?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 17-12-2018
