Having problems with your 1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse ?

Car will not start

\015 The Car Model: actually 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse FWD 1.8L I've noticed you expertise and want to know if you can help me.OK, first off the car will not start, there's fuel reaching the fuel rail. I got spark, checked the spark wire, distributor, timing etc. Nothing appears to be wrong with the ignition system. However, a couple of things have occur in the past month or so, Fuel delivery was a problem so I replaced the fuel filter and it ran fine for a while. More recent the same problem occur when the car would drive for while then die and start back up again. After I got it home I checked the fuel pump (working). After that, for a good 3 weeks it ran fine. And today it seems like I have pressure up to the fuel rail, additionally if fuel delivery was a problem, I sprayed starting fluid into the throttle body to see if the car would even start, which of course it didn't.Which brings my problem back to Ignition. Or something I'm missing completely. Just point me in a direction and I'll check it out. \015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-12-2018

Hes right in the fact that it is most likely the "brain" or the ecu as a tech would know it when dsm ecu's are exposed to high heat or very cold temeratures it is common for them to go out primarily on the injector circuit my sugsetion ist un bolt the fuel rail and point the injector away from you (preferable into a drip pan) and try to turn it voer that will tell you if they are working and just to check how did you determine that you have fuel pressure up to the rail because the only way th really tell is to remove the rail or install a gauge at the rail also fuel pressue regulator could be jammed and letting the fuel just run right back to the gas tank probably is the ecu though
Seems you have done everything right. Not an expert but maybe have the brain checked out..does sound like it is an ignition problem. The only thing I could maybe think of is that the fuel pump is not working correctly..not enough presure.Myself, I would have the brain checked then if you are getting good spark on the number one cylinder I would re-think the fuel pump. Good luck..hope to hear back on what you found.
