Having problems with your 1991 Saab 900 ?

91 Saab 900 keeps dying... jump start it and it will hold a charge for a few moments then die again.. issue started with right blinker not working when brakes are applied and lights on dashboard would illuminate...had it towed to the mechanic about a week ago and they stated it was the wire that connects the alternator and battery and replaced this... after charging an arm and a leg for "labor" the problem still seems to be happening... today the dashboard lights started to flicker on and off wh

You need an alternator! The problem is in the alternator and more specifically, the regulator. It seems to be just hanging on and it is possible the mechanics didn't bother to test for proper charging amperage and voltage. The reason it would dim is because it was relying heavily on the battery instead of the charging system provide the adequate power.
