Having problems with your 1992 Chevrolet Astro Extended ?

My van takes several minutes of trying to start it. It progressively gets more power to turn over and then does. occassionally the battery will die before it starts. If you jump it, it starts right up. We had replaced the fuel pump just over one year ago and gave it a tune up. I started using fuel injection cleaner in the tank and it helped some. Any ideas?

Answers :

Make sure your starter, engine block ground, starter solenoid and battery terminal connections are tight and not corroded. consider going to auto zone to have your batter tested for dead cells, that it is properly taking and holding a charge.
