92 A500 transmission

\015 I have a 92 A500 that after rebuild with all new parts goes into over drive when it shifts into 2nd gear if I unplug the three pin plug it shifts like a normal three speed.I cut the wires to the smec, it did the same thing as long as I have 12 volts to the transmission,\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 10-12-2018

Answers :

You have a short to ground in the internal wiring harness. The first thru third shifts are done hydralicly. The SMEC then applies a ground to the overdrive solenoid for fourth gear and the TCC solenoid for torque converter lockup.
