Dear d stewart21,

\015\012If your talking about adding water to your radiator then you may
\015\0121) Have the wrong mix of water to antifreeze
\015\0122) Have a cooling system leak
\015\0123) Have a faulty thermostat on the engine block
\015\012
\015\012For cooling system leaks I always add "Bars Leak" to the coolant system first since it's cheap and inexpensive and will seal small leaks....NOTE: Always read the instructions carefully and follow to the "T" !

\015\012If this doesn't help ...please get back to me and give a more detailed description of your problem!

\015\012Hope This Will FixYa!

If you do not have a radiator pressure tester there are a few things you can do yourself.
\015\012
\015\012First tighten all of the radiator and heater hose clamps on the car.
\015\012
\015\012Grab the fan blade ( not running of course) and see if the blade will move for and aft in the direction of car travel. If you see the pully behind the fan blade moving, the water pump is bad.
\015\012
\015\012With the car cold, remove the radiator cap then warm the car. when the radiator is very hot indicating the car is up to temp, have somone sharply snap the throttle open for a second. No need to rev very high but do need to bury the foot for an instant. If you have a lot of bubbles in the radiator you have a blown head gasket.
\015\012
\015\012Before you do any of the above, look hard for stains showing obvious leaks around the radiator, all sides of the engine and the floor of the front passenger campartment, check to see if the rug is wet indicating a bad heater core or connection
\015\012
\015\012Good luck
