Having problems with your 1993 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer ?

Fuel pump irregularity

\015 Hi,I replaced a fuel pump and the new one is acting odd. Instead of the steady whine I hear from most fuel pumps, this one will chug and surge. You can always hear it when you first push the gas pedal. It goes about a mile down the road before it seems to stop pumping gas and the vehicle slows down to about 20 miles an hour, and the pump can still be heard chugging. If I restart it and let it prime, it'll go for another mile before doing it again. I replaced the fuel filter and that didn't help. I also replaced the sending unit when I replaced the fuel pump.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 23-11-2020

Answers :

Sounds to me like you got a faulty pump. To be sure, put a fuel pressure gauge on the engine and see if the pressure drops.
