At this age, you can do two options, as far as most people would say: I'd probably put Valvoline high-milage oil in it, but this engine was designed not as much for Synthetics as some modern engines. Don't get me wrong: Synthetics would help it, but synthetics are not required for good performance. Just please, please don't put Pennzoil or "Thirteen Dollar/5 quarts" oil in it. Valvoline and the like, middle cost oils will keep it running for a long time without pouring nasty gunk around the engine.
