Having problems with your 1993 Honda Accord ?

My 1993 honda accord is stuck in park. i have to use the shift lock to release it

First of all you should check all your fuses and relays because they contain circuits that are not "always" marked within. Your shifter is held in place by one of two systems. !. there is an electrical solenoid connected to the brakelight switch which releases the shifter "only" while you press the brake, for safety reasons of course. 2. the same action is controlled by a cable driven link to the steering column. Your's is most likley the first on so, check all your fuses and relays. Then you'll have to remove the center console and look around that area to find if the functionallity of that release system is at fault.Good luck my friend, Dana
