Having problems with your 1993 Toyota 4Runner ?

Hilux Motor suddenly lost power, then trouble to maintain idle

\015 I was driving as normal on the highway, then felt a sudden lost of power. I needed to pump more fuel to maintain motor working and it did. After I got to a traffic light went motor stalled. Tough time to start it again, but with the lost of power. I managed to got home, pumping more fuel to keep the idle up, and the car moving.\015\012Background, recently I retrofit the motor and fine tuned the carburator. Mechanics were not as quality finishers. I received the car with no fuel filter, the ground cable that connect the mass with the chassis not connected, but I was working okey for over a month. Would like to fix it myself this time. What would be the common causes?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 06-07-2020

Answers :

The carburator is dirty and check the bleeder screw for some dirt that went in the carburator. Adjust the idle .
