Are you getting proper fuel pressure to the engine a fuel pressure test will determine this most parts stores will do the test for free and give you the results ..this is what it sounds like from the brief description you provided ...there is a valve on the fuel rail but 1st simply turn the key to on {not starting ]the vehicle and listen for the fuel pump to make a slight humming noise ....if none is present the most likely reason is your fuel pump ..however if you hear it engage there is a fuel relief valve on the rail itself locate it and remove the cap and it will look much like a tire valve only a bit larger ..while shielding your eyes from any gasoline squirting up out and into your eyes { use a rag } ..and with the key on push the valve there should be a constant disbursement flow of fuel if not then again i revert back to the fuel pump

also note it may be a wire rubbing against the frame causing it to ground out look for the obvious at this point as well ..

on another note some models were built with a fuel shut off in the unlikely event of an accident the flow of fuel is then shut down and you will need to locate the vehicles pull handle usually in the passengers side trunk behind the fabric or in the glove box ..pull it if one is there this will allow the flow of fuel again .
however it should not even start for 1 second as this feature was added to keep the vehicle from starting ...again i suggest open the hood try the tests i suggested and again look for the obvious such as a vacuum line off or even dry-rotted check them by bending them if its sucking air this will prevent the vehicle from running as well

or perhaps a clogged fuel filter ...as i said it is a brief description and this is where i would suggest looking towards 1st ....i hope this works for you ..one of these areas of what to look towards
