Fan shroud removal

\015 I need to remove my fan shroud so I can replace the belt bearings. I know that there are 4 bolts to remove, but how do i remove it without removing and damaging the fan?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 24-09-2018

Answers :

You need to take the fan off as well if you have a mechanical fan. IF you have the electric fan in the shroud, it comes out with the shroud.
REMEMBER the fan shroud is for keeping your hans safe because when the car is off and the engine is still hot it may come on by itself is what it should say on the shroud or nearby. also remember that the shroud only directs a little air from the outside of the vehicle through the radiator thruogh the fan towards your engine so if you break it its not a huge deal. in my mind its just another hunk of plastic thats there for you to have to take off to get to major components of the vehicle engine. you can remove the shroud forcfully if you have to because the shroud is only a few dollars if you actually want to replace it. the fan should have one bolt holding it on,, this being a fan that has a clutch to shut it down after 35mph or so... after that it should slide off nice and easy with no major problems just remeber that it has to go back on in the same exact way when your done.
