Intermittent Power / starting issues with 1994 Laredo

\015 My daughter's 1994 Laredo is having an issue that I'm not sure is related to electrical or what. Sometimes, when you go to start it, it starts fine. Other times, you turn the key and get absolutely nothing. It's as if someone removed the battery. When it does start, the battery shows a full charge and all gauges operate properly. I don't want to let her drive it because I'm afraid she will be stranded somewhere when it doesn't start. Any clues?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 08-08-2022

Answers :

1, Clean both battery terminals and attending wire ends where they contact the battery.
2. If it happens again, check power at the smaller of the two starter wires for power when the key is turned to "start" If power (12v) is there but starter does not turn, change the solenoid or replace starter/sonenoid as a unit.. If no power is present, jump the two center wires opposite the locking clip on the harness coming from the neutral safety switch (harness plug is near the dipstick for the transmission) if vehicle starts, replace or rebuild neutral safety switch. (when jumping the harness, be careful... vehicle will start in ANY gear.)
ITS ROUGH FROM HERE BUT THAT SOUND LIKE A BAD ELECTRICALL CONNECTION......SOMEWHERE IN THE IGNITION SYSTEM.BATTERY,STARTER? OR THE STARTER ITSELF.ARE ALL THE OTHE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WORKING?
