Answers :

If your loosing coolant then this is the reason for over heating. If it is leaking around the intake gasket then it could possibly be the intake gasket itself. What you should do is have the cooling system pressure tested. The throttle body gaskets were good for leaking coolant on these 3.8 engines. There was a recall on them at one time. Not sure if it would still be covered. You can call the dealership and give them your vehicle identification number and they will tell you if there are any open recalls on your vehicle. This would be a free repair on the throttle body only.Hope this helps.Good luck.
The intakes on these are bad to leak, this is most likely the problem, there has to be enough coolant in the system to flow correctly, and no air in the cooling system.
