Having problems with your 1994 Pontiac Sunbird ?

94 sunbird will not start

\015 Battery is good, alternator good, put in a new ignition switch. The lights are good and bright. What i have done so far to get it started is use my test light to the back of the starter solenoid and touched the other end of it to the positive side of the battery, my helper turn the ignition switch on and it cranked up, then when i turned it off to see if it would start it would not. I done the test again and it starts everytime this way but not from the switch. Th estarter and solenoid is less than a year old. Can someone help?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 02-12-2019

Answers :

Remove the smaller gauge wire from the solenoid, and put your test light on it while the ignition switch is being pushed into the "start" position. If the light turns on, the solenoid has gone bad.
Well right now my car.. everything works except it doesnt start.. id say its your starter
