Having problems with your 1994 Toyota 4Runner ?

1994 Toyota 4Runner runs rough when I get on the gas

\015 My woman has a 1994 4Runner 3.0 V6/auto/4WD/120k. It starts and runs ok but does terrible when you give it to much gas. Stepping on the pedal much more than 1/3 of the way and the motor bogs down and sputters a bit. If you hold the pedal at that point it will eventually run smooth again but takes a little time to acclimate itself. Its not terrible in city driving but very pronounced on the highway where the pedal is naturally pushed down further. \015\012\015\012I just replaced the fuel pump mounting bracket and the screen over the fuel pump about 2k miles ago when she got it. Yesterday I finally got around to replacing the fuel filter. I thought it might be starving for fuel. It has had this problem since she got it, but we just assumed it was the leaking bracket then.\015\012\015\012My guess now is the O2 sensor is bad or something with a vacuum line. She won't have money for the sensor for another month and all the lines look good still. Not brittle anyways.\015\012\015\012Do these trucks have any pieces that are known problems I should concentrate on? I'm hoping it is just a bad sensor or valve that needs cleaned but don't know where to start on this vehicle. Trying to do the free and very cheap things first.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 30-11-2020
