Gear Hunting - 94 FZJ80 with A442f Tranny

\015 Just swapped out the tranny in our 94 FZJ80 with 1FZFE engine and A442F transmission after what appeared to be slipping problems. Full flush after the rebuild to make sure the cooler lines were pristine. All said and done, still acting up. Sigh. Took our mechanic for a ride and he thought it was what he described as gear hunting. From there we wracked our brains but couldn't really come up with a definitive answer. All I can think is maybe dirty or fouled electrical boot/s, bad Transmission ECU, Perhaps the speed sensor and ultimately I'm not sure if there are any other components that impact the locking/unlocking of the torque converter for example I know on some vehicles the MAS can control that. More or less left scratching my head now and frustrated.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-07-2019
