Answers :

It is as big as a man's thumb. the large base is about the same size around while the other end is about as large as a woman's little finger. Find the valve cover(s) as PCV is always base end jammed into a valve cover and small end into a large vacuum hose. If your car as a V engine and a carburetor
you may have to remove the air cleaner to see the tops of the valve covers. The PCV is probably not bad, you can check that by shaking it after you have it out. If you hear something clunking back and forth, and you can blow through it in one direction but not the other then it is OK. You can clean it by soaking it in gasoline. The important part is to replace the vacuum hose and the grommet which hold the PCV as they have become hard with age and allow vacuum leaks. They will sell these at parts stores right along with the PCV valve. All three parts should be less than 10 bucks.
