1995 Jaguar XJ6 oil pressure gauge

\015 I have a 1995 Jaguar XJ6. On starting the oil pressure gauge reads ok. However as I drive and I stop the oil pressure gauge drops to 35 and the oil indicator light dose not come on is this something that need to be looked at. When I start moving it dose not go up to 45 as it was. As I have missed my service 70,000 oil change, and I checked the oil level and it is ok.\015\012 \015\012Sunil\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019

Answers :

This is OK. Oil pressure is always higher when the engine is cold.
\015\012As an engine accumulates miles the pressure will start to drop due to bearing clearances increasing.
\015\012If this just started to happen you may want to replace the oil filter and or oil pressure sending unit.
