Having problems with your 1995 Mitsubishi Montero ?

Mitsubishi Pajero 1992 2.5 TD 1992 2.5 TD, A/T_tem light on

\015 Hi, I have a Mitsubishi Pajero 1992 2.5 TD. In the front panel, the ''A/T_tem'' light is on. I`d like to ask you what problem this alarm refers to and how to solve it.Thank you\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-09-2020

Answers :

The AT Temp light refers to the temperature of the automatic transmission fluid. If worked very hard the tranny will heat up quite a bit and the switch will close telling you the tranny is getting too hot. If this happpens, park your Pajero and keep the engine running and allow the engine to idle, this will help cool the fluid and the light will rurn off. Given the year of your Pajero, a tranny filter / fluid replacement would be a good thing. I have a 1990 Montero (here in the US) and the over heat switch on my tranny failed so light was always on, had to replace the switch. I believe the switch can be found in a tranny coolant line.
