Having problems with your 1995 Pontiac Grand Am ?

Engine won't start!!!!!

\015 I have a 1995 pontiac grand am driving down highway,came to stop light in town,car dies,no warning ,nothing!!Went to start it,have nothing it wont even fire back up!!!!!!! totally pissed just bought car.need all advice youy can give me.....Thanks Ron\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 21-01-2019

It's also possible that the alternator went out if all the power was lost (you can still listen to the radio though). This happened to me before. The alternator isn't too hard to change yourself. Hope this helps.
It's possible the "anti-thielf" system has been failing and went out while you was driving. If the ignition key has a chip in the shaft of the key your car has anti-thieft. It's possible the system doesn't reconisethe igntion key and shut the system down. Try using another igntion key if it came with 2 keys. If the engine started you'll need to get the other igntion key replace.
